Item Specification Policy

These terms ("Terms") constitute our Item Specification Policy between

you ("You, the customer")

and

RapAdd MFG Aktiebolag ("RapAdd MFG, RapAdd, the company, we, us, our"), having its place of business at Spjutvägen 5F, 175 61 Jakobsberg, Sweden.

General

Here we provide a detailed overview of how manufacturing partners prioritise order specifications supplied by our customers. Manufacturing partners prioritise specifications based on whether they are primary, secondary or custom.

All additional terms, guidelines, and rules, including our General Terms of Sale, are incorporated by reference into this Policy.

Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used here starting with a capital letter shall have the same meaning as in our General Terms of Sale.

Precedence of Technical Data

RapAdd MFG uses 3D CAD data and/or drawings, as may be provided to You, to generate Items and tooling. 2D technical drawings will prevail over 3D CAD models only with respect to tolerances and/or threads, is specified. In all other cases, 3D CAD data will take precedence over 2D technical drawings during production of Your Items, if these has been provided prior to us accepting Your Order, or unless otherwise agreed in writing.

RapAdd MFG is not responsible for discrepancies between 3D CAD model data and 2D technical drawings.

Threads and Specific Tolerances

If an Order includes one or more Items with threads or specific tolerances, it is Your responsibility to provide sufficient technical drawings containing the relevant information to process Your request, and to indicate on the Order or quote request that a request for threading or special tolerances exist. It is also Your responsibility to check that this is reflected properly on the order confirmation.

Custom requests

A custom request is defined as anything that is not a standard selection on our quoting tool.

Common requests include part marking, heat treatment, and additional quality documentation.

Custom requests are appended to the quote solely by Hubs team members as specialised line items.

The CAD file

Specifies:

  • Item design / geometry
  • Nominal dimensions

Secondary specifications

The technical drawing

provides additional details for:

  • Threads specifications If “contains threads” is Yes in the quote, then more detail must be provided in the technical drawing. If it is No, then no threads in the technical drawing will be applied.
  • Tolerance specifications If “exceeds standard tolerances” is Yes in the quote, then more detail must be provided in the technical drawing. If it is No, then no tolerances in the technical drawing will be applied.
  • Custom requests The quote must already reflect custom requests in order for corresponding details in the technical drawing or other attachment to be regarded.

Attachments

provides additional details for:

  • Cosmetic specifications Applies only to surface finishes with a cosmetic option.
  • Previous orders We can not ensure identical visual consistency between orders, but points of reference help our partners understand your intent and expectations.
  • Custom requests Custom requests must be quoted line items in order for corresponding details in attachments to be regarded.

Your Representations

(a) You certify that You understand that You are responsible for providing RapAdd MFG with correct and complete User Content, including 3D CAD data and/or drawings to produce Your Items. All relevant User Content needed for the production of Your Items must be uploaded to our website ("the Site") or provided in any other way agreed on between RapAdd MFG and You.

(a) You certify that You understand that RapAdd MFG has no obligation to review any User Content (including specifications, data or drawings) that You provide, and reserves the right to reject or cancel any Order that is not uploaded to the Site.

With respect to the technical specifications for Your Order only, including material, surface finish and quantity, the specifications written on Your quote will prevail over these Terms and/or any drawings (including 2D technical drawings) or 3D model. In all other cases, in the event of a conflict between the provisions contained in the Order and these Terms, the Terms will prevail.

(a) You certify that You understand that RapAdd MFG is not responsible for incorrectly designed Items, Items that do not assemble correctly, Items with thick cross sections that produce sink marks, warp or Items that are produced based on incorrectly provided 3D CAD data or technical drawings. RapAdd MFG is not responsible for the fit or assembly of Your Items unless specifically agreed upon in writing.

(a) You certify that You understand that RapAdd MFG is not responsible for material selection and suitability for Your application.

Changes to these Terms

These Terms are subject to occasional revision. If we make any substantial changes to these Terms ("Changes"), we shall give You Notice.

These Changes will be effective immediately for new users of the Site. Continued use of the Site, Accounts and/or placements of Orders following Notice of such Changes shall indicate Your acknowledgement of such Changes and agreement to be bound by the terms and conditions of such Changes.

If You are not a new user and/or do not use the Site for thirty (30) calendar days following our dispatch of an e-mail Notice to You (if applicable) or thirty (30) calendar days following our posting of the Changes on the Site (if applicable), then the expirations of the thirty (30) days will indicate Your acknowledgement of such Changes.

If You do not wish to agree to the Changes, then we will not be able to continue providing the Site and/or any Products to You. In this case, You must stop accessing the Site and deactivate Your Account.
